It is a pleasure for us to recognize special applications of "AI technologies" with one of our MMK Excellence Awards. The focus is on companies that have achieved impressive success through the use of artificial intelligence (AI). The award will be presented at the next Munich Management Colloquium, which will take place on March 10 and 11, 2026.

AI is revolutionizing entrepreneurship

The new technology is becoming increasingly integrated through start-ups, low-code and no-code applications. One outstanding example is the increase in employee productivity. AI-supported tools and algorithms can automate repetitive tasks and free up employees so that they can concentrate on creative and value-adding activities. This disruptive power of AI also leads to significant quality improvements in production and customer service. In addition to this exemplary bottom-line effect, AI technologies also make a significant contribution to increasing sales (top line). Through data-driven decisions and personalized customer experiences, companies can expand their market opportunities and tap into new sales potential. AI-supported marketing strategies enable a precise target group approach, which increases conversion rates and strengthens customer loyalty. In addition, AI systems support the development of new products and services by analyzing market data and identifying trends that would previously have gone undetected. These top-line effects ensure sustainable growth and a stronger competitive position in the market.

The criteria

The award also pays particular attention to the transferability and scalability of AI solutions. Companies that can successfully apply their technologies in different areas and industries have a clear competitive advantage. A jury of leading experts from business and science will evaluate the submitted solutions based on the following criteria:

  • Application proximity and real, measurable success: how well the solutions can be applied in practice and what concrete results have been achieved
  • Cost reduction through automation: To what extent could costs be saved through the implementation of AI solutions?
  • Sales growth through AI: What impact has the use of AI had on sales growth
  • Disruptiveness & change management: To what extent is AI technology changing existing business models and creating new market opportunities?
  • Degree of transferability and scaling: How well can the solutions be transferred to other sectors and fields of application?
