Prof. Ferdinand Dudenhöffer, holder of the Chair of Automotive Economics at the University of Duisburg-Essen and founding member of the CAR-Center Automotive Research, took part in the panel discussion on growth opportunities through the efficient use of resources at the end of the first day of the 19th MMK together with other renowned executives. He spoke on the topic of resource efficiency in the automotive industry as part of the discussion.

The CAR-Center Automotive Research bundles important research work in the fields of automotive economics, automotive management and mechatronics at the University of Duisburg-Essen. Here, important scientific and economic work on the automotive and supplier industry is examined.

Prof. Dr. Ferdinand Dudenhöffer is one of the most renowned automotive experts in Germany. After studying economics at the University of Mannheim, he received his doctorate with distinction in 1983. From 1978 to 1984, he worked as a university assistant at the Department of Economics at the University of Mannheim. One year later, he joined Adam Opel AG as an analyst in the marketing department. Prof. Dudenhöffer then headed the Marketing Strategies & Research department at Porsche AG for three years. In 1991, he moved to Peugeot Germany, where he was responsible as Sales Director and Director of Branches until 1994. For the following two years, he was Director of Network Development. From 1996 until his appointment at the UDE, he taught as Professor of Marketing and Corporate Management in the Department of Industrial Engineering and Management in the Automotive Industry at Gelsenkirchen University of Applied Sciences. There he was co-founder and director of the CAR Center of Automotive Research. Since October 2008, Prof. Dudenhöffer has held the Chair of General Business Administration and Automotive Economics at the University of Duisburg Essen.
