Mr. Hans-Georg Frey, Chairman of the Board of Management of Jungheinrich AGwill give a presentation on the topic of "Lean structure versus expansion: strategic considerations for sales in emerging markets" from the perspective of a leading company in the warehouse technology sector.

Jungheinrich is a leading supplier of warehousing technology in Europe with a comprehensive product range of material handling equipment, shelving systems and services for internal material flow.

On August 7, 1953, H. Jungheinrich & Co. Maschinenfabrik is founded in Hamburg by Friedrich Jungheinrich. The first foreign sales company is opened in Austria in 1956. In 1958, the company headquarters and plant are opened in Hamburg Wandsbek. Today, the company has 17 sales centers and branches and over 50 rental locations in Germany. Internationally, Jungheinrich operates sales and service companies in 31 European and non-European countries. The company has production facilities in Norderstedt, Moosburg and Lüneburg in Germany and an assembly plant in Qingpu/China.

In 2006, the company generated sales of 1.748 billion euros. This corresponds to an increase of 6.3 percent compared to the previous year.

Hans-Georg Frey has been Chairman of the Board of Management of Jungheinrich AG since May 2007. He was born in Stuttgart on July 27, 1956. From 1977-1982, he studied law at the universities of Erlangen, Lausanne (CH) and Tübingen. He passed his first state examination in law in 1982 and his second in 1986. Hans-Georg-Frey also completed part-time studies in business administration in Zurich (CH) and Albany (USA) from 1992-1999.

In his contribution to the 15th Munich Management Colloquium, Mr. Frey will discuss how the conflict of objectives between lean structures and company expansion can be resolved. The development of sales structures in emerging markets will serve as an example.
