He has also been Spokesman of the Executive Board since October 1, 2006. Dr. Robert Bauer joined SICK in 1994 as Head of the Research & Development Automation Technology Division and assumed overall responsibility for research and development on the Executive Board in 1998. Born in Munich in 1960, he studied electrical engineering at the Technical University of Munich from 1979 to 1985, specializing in electrophysics. In his contribution to the 16th Munich Management Colloquium, Dr. Bauer will discuss the challenges and tasks that the management of a company must face in order to actively promote and demand entrepreneurship in its own company. He will discuss this in particular with regard to decentralized organizational structures, which on the one hand are conducive to such a concept due to individual responsibility, but on the other hand are also associated with a loss of control and power. Alternative control and risk management concepts must therefore be used, which Dr. Bauer will present using the example of the company he manages, SICK AG.
