biography

After his training as a farmer and subsequent graduation as a state-certified agricultural technician from the Triesdorf Technical College, the man born in 1968 in Parsberg in the Upper Palatinate region of Germany took over the company. Albert Füracker, MdLHe took over his parents' farm in 1990. At this time, he had already been politically active in the Christian Social Union for many years, where he still holds political offices today, including as an assessor on the party executive and as chairman of the Upper Palatinate district association.

He has been a member of the Neumarkt district council since 1990 and was also a member of the local council in his home town of Markt Lupburg until 2020. After further positions in local politics as deputy district administrator in the district of Neumarkt i.d.Opf. and second mayor of the market town of Lupburg, he moved to the Bavarian state parliament in 2008 as a directly elected member of the constituency of Neumarkt i.d.OPf., where he was chairman of the Committee for Food, Agriculture and Forestry, among other things.

In 2013, Albert Füracker, MdL was appointed State Secretary in the Bavarian State Ministry of Finance, Regional Development and Regional Identity, and has been Bavarian State Minister of Finance and Regional Identity since March 2018. In this role, he is not only responsible for finances, budget, taxes, state assets and state holdings, but also for the relocation of authorities, civil service law, digital administration and state IT matters, state palaces, gardens and lakes and surveying, cadastre and demarcation. In addition, there are ex officio activities, such as Chairman of the Supervisory Board of Flughafen München GmbH, Flughafen Nürnberg GmbH and Messe Nürnberg GmbH, as well as a number of honorary posts.
