Rachel Empey

Rachel Empey is an internationally experienced senior executive with over 25 years of leadership in finance, strategy, digital transformation, and general management. She has served as CFO for both DAX and MDAX listed companies and led Europe’s largest IPO in 2012. As former CFO of Fresenius and Telefónica Deutschland, she was responsible for large-scale corporate transformations, multi-billion euro M&A transactions, and global IT and digitalisation strategies.

Rachel Empey brings extensive supervisory and audit committee experience from leading roles at BMW AG, ZF Friedrichshafen, Fresenius Medical Care, Fresenius Kabi, and Inchcape PLC. She is currently an Executive Mentor at Russell Reynolds, supporting C-level executives in leadership development, and serves on multiple bank advisory boards.

Her career began at Ernst & Young, followed by roles at Lucent Technologies and Telefónica in the UK and Germany.

She holds a degree in Mathematical Sciences from the University of Oxford and is a qualified Chartered Accountant (ACA). Rachel is fluent in English, German, and French. Outside of her professional life, she is an avid athlete and actively engaged in mentoring.
