Dr. Marc Wawerla

Marc Wawerla is Member of the Executive Board of the ZEISS Group and heads the Industrial Quality & Research segment comprising the Industrial Quality Solutions and Research Microscopy Solutions Strategic Business Units. He is also responsible for Corporate Export Control & Customs. In addition, he oversees the sales regions Italy, Nordics, Austria, Switzerland, Czech Republic, Poland, Ukraine and the United Kingdom. He is also President and CEO of Carl Zeiss IQR GmbH. Effective 1 October 2025, Marc Wawerla became Member of the Executive Board.

Marc Wawerla was born in 1976 in Friedrichshafen, Germany. In 2003, he graduated with a degree in mechanical engineering from the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT). In 2007, he obtained his doctorate (Dr.-Ing.) in engineering sciences at the KIT’s Institute for Production Science.
