Presentation of the Start-up Stage 2023
As a founding university and start-up ecosystem, the Technical University of Munich is the perfect place for young entrepreneurs. Well-known companies such as Celonis, Flixbus or Outfittery, for example, have their roots at TUM and their potential successors could already be established. Thanks to their flexibility and agility, start-ups have the ability to react quickly to the new challenges of our time and develop innovative solutions for them. Accordingly, the start-up scene can also make an important contribution to the topic of "Innovation - Sustainability - Resilience" at the 30th Munich Management Colloquium. This is why the so-called Start-up Stage will take place at the MMK for the second time this year, where founders from various sectors can present the vision of their young company. New ideas, creative solutions, exciting business models - these are all reasons why managing directors and CEOs should attend the presentations at the MMK Start-up Stage.
The following seven start-ups will be represented this year:

The Munich-based software company Tanso Technologies supports industry on the path to decarbonization. With its applications, Tanso automates the various processes of CO₂ balancing and thus creates the analytical basis for effective emissions reduction in manufacturing companies. Customers are supported by the software solution both in recording their own CO₂ footprint and in active decarbonization management in their operations.

36ZERO Vision offers an AI-based solution for visual quality control in production. To this end, the Munich-based company has developed a computer vision technology based on proprietary deep learning algorithms. This enables automated image acquisition, defect inspection and optical character verification. The progressive automation of these quality control processes can significantly increase transparency and productivity in the manufacturing industry.

Nebumind has set itself the goal of promoting the use of data in production. The young company offers a software solution for recording and visualizing production data. The aim is to reduce production rejects and continuously improve manufacturing processes. With the help of digital component twins, manufacturers can analyze component quality and process stability systematically and online - regardless of machine type, manufacturing process and production sector.

The Dresden start-up Mataono has developed a software solution for automatically analyzing the emotions of faces in video recordings (e.g. via a webcam). This makes it possible to measure and evaluate the reactions of conversation participants and place them in the context of the presentation materials shown. The applications of Mataono can be used, for example, in market research and in the targeted training of sales personnel.

Certivity is a software solution that aims to make the management of regulations in the automotive industry smarter, more transparent and more cost-effective. The solution focuses on product integrity, i.e. ensuring that a product complies with technical regulations, laws and standards throughout its lifecycle. To achieve this, Certivity can be integrated into the product development process from the very beginning.

Around 65,000 trees are needed in Germany every year for the production of receipt paper. The Regensburg-based company anybill has therefore set itself the goal of providing digital receipts for every payment. It offers a digital ecosystem for issuing, receiving and processing digital receipts, which can be accessed via merchant, bank and payment apps or directly at the point of sale by scanning a QR code with a smartphone. The aim is to do away with paper receipts in the long term and offer a more environmentally friendly digital alternative.

Hum offers an AI-supported tool for translating texts into "easy language". This refers to an understandable language style with a simple sentence structure and additional explanations. This application addresses the needs of a large target audience of over 10 million people in Germany who require information in plain language. This includes, for example, people with learning difficulties, older people or people learning German as a foreign language. The tool is designed to be quick, affordable and easy to use. This should increase the long-term inclusion and digital participation of the target group.
In March 2023, the Munich Management Colloquium offers the opportunity to learn from innovative thinkers from the start-up scene. The change processes presented and the associated innovations can make a decisive contribution to Germany as a business location.
