Prof. Dr. Isabell M. Welpe

After studying economics at the Ludwig Maximilian University of Munich and at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in Boston, USA, and completing a Master's degree at the London School of Economics, England, he was awarded a doctorate in economics. Prof. Welpe D. at the University of Regensburg at the Chair of Technology and Innovation Management (2003) and habilitated at the LMU (Prof. Dr. Dres. h.c. Arnold Picot) on the subject of innovation and organization (2007). She has held the Chair of Strategy and Organization at TUM since 2009.

Prof. Welpe conducts research from a behavioural science perspective in the areas of leadership, innovation and organization, including the selection and assessment of managers, strategic leadership, team leadership, the role of emotions in leadership processes, incentive systems and performance measurement in universities. She pursues a quantitative-empirical research approach in which different data sources (e.g. laboratory experiments) and research designs (experimental/correlative designs) are used.
