biography

Uli Hoeneß is club president and chairman of the supervisory board of FC Bayern München AG.

FC Bayern Munich (officially: Fußball-Club Bayern, München eingetragener Verein) is a sports club from Munich. The professional football department, which has been spun off into a separate public limited company since 2002, is the sole German record champion, DFB Cup, League Cup and Super Cup winner and occupies first place in the Bundesliga's perpetual table. This makes Bayern Munich the most successful German soccer club in professional soccer.
At European level, FC Bayern is one of the five most successful clubs with four titles in the Champions League and the European Cup. FC Bayern Munich has also won the World Cup twice. The club is also one of the world's most successful in economic terms: after the 2009/10 season, Bayern was ranked fourth in the list of the clubs with the highest turnover and in April 2011, it was ranked in the same position in Forbes Magazine's list of the most valuable clubs. With around 185,000 club members, FC Bayern is one of the largest sports clubs in the world. The club has 2,952 official fan clubs with a total of 204,235 registered members.

Hoeneß was born in Ulm on January 5, 1952. In 1979, after 239 Bundesliga matches (86 goals), he took over as manager of FC Bayern München AG and was deputy chairman of the board from 2002 to 2009. He was responsible for all matters relating to licensed players, the junior team, sponsoring, licenses and representing the AG in Stadion GmbH. He replaced Franz Beckenbauer as President of FC Bayern München e.V. on November 27, 2009 and was elected Chairman of the Supervisory Board of FC Bayern München AG on March 4, 2010.
