Thomas Limberger, Chairman of the Board of Directors and Chief Executive Officer of Von Roll AG, spoke in his presentation "Von Roll - The crisis as an opportunity" about the current challenges and growth opportunities offered by global economic developments for a world market leader in insulation products and systems.

Thomas Limberger has been Chairman of the Board of Directors and Chief Executive Officer of Von Roll AG since 2007. With consolidated sales of CHF 688 million, Von Roll is a recognized global market leader in the field of insulation products and systems for the electrical machinery industry and in the manufacture of composite materials and parts for a wide range of industrial applications. The company also manufactures heat- and fire-resistant insulation products that are used in cable manufacturing and the electronics industry. Transformers have been part of the portfolio as a third segment since the end of 2008. Von Roll Elco Transformers is a leading global manufacturer and supplier of solutions for electrical infrastructures, in particular transformers for power generation, transmission and distribution.

After graduating from the Institut Supérieur de Gestion in Paris and completing an MBA in Finance & Strategic Management at the University of New York, Mr. Limberger held various management positions at Fresenius AG and Fresenius Medical AG. From 2001 to 2005, he was CEO and Country Head for General Electric's business in Germany, Austria and Switzerland. Before joining Von Roll, he was CEO and Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors of OC Oerlikon AG. In addition to his activities for Von Roll AG, Mr. Limberger is a member of the Board of Directors of SGS (Société Générale de Surveillance) and a member of the Board of Directors of Mövenpick Hotels & Resorts.

In his contribution to the 17th Munich Management Colloquium, Mr. Thomas Limberger will use the example of Von Roll to discuss how companies can use and positively overcome the current economic crisis. Mr. Limberger will show how Von Roll identifies and implements growth potential in both existing and new markets.
