Mrs. Susanne Biedenkopf-Kürten studied Romance and German studies in Freiburg im Breisgau, Montpellier and Santiago de Compostela.
After completing her studies, she worked as a junior producer at the ZDF studio in Washington from 1985 to 1986 and then moved to ZDF in Mainz, where she worked as an editor for "Heute-journal" and the children's news program "Logo".
After the fall of the Berlin Wall, she reported from the former GDR and became head of the newly founded ZDF studio in Thuringia in 1991. From 1993, she reported for the ZDF foreign policy department in Mainz, covering the USA, Latin America and numerous European countries. In 1999, Biedenkopf-Kürten became head of the ZDF European desk. Among other things, she was responsible for the daily Europe magazine "heute - in Europa" and the Europe magazine "Yourope" on the Franco-German television channel ARTE.
Susanne Biedenkopf-Kürten has been Head of the Business, Legal, Service, Social Affairs and Environment editorial team since March 2014. She is married, has two children and lives in Geneva and Wiesbaden.
