Rocco Bräuniger has been Amazon's Country Manager in Germany, Austria and Switzerland since January 1, 2022. He is also responsible for Amazon's expansion countries in Europe, such as Poland and Sweden.
Bräuniger began his career at Amazon in January 2006 - when Amazon employed just 400 people in Germany outside of logistics. He has gained a wealth of experience at Amazon: He worked in supply chain management, managed important product categories such as "Outdoor", "Sports" or "Home & Garden", supported the opening of Amazon in India and was responsible for the new location in Australia as Country Manager for two and a half years from 2017. Most recently, Bräuniger was responsible for the European consumer goods business.
Bräuniger studied business administration in Bayreuth and completed a Master of Business Administration in Boston. Before joining Amazon, he worked as a management consultant.
Bräuniger is a member of the main board of the digital association Bitkom, which is committed to digitalization in Germany. He is also part of the management board of GS1, a non-profit organization that has standardized the barcode across all industries and represents two million user companies and 10 billion transactions per day worldwide. Bräuniger was also deputy chairman of the supervisory board of Amazon's Leipzig logistics center and has worked in many areas of logistics during short internships to experience the job diversity of the more than 40,000 permanent employees in Germany at first hand.
