In his presentation on the topic of "Is growth still possible?", Wulf von Schimmelmann explains the opportunities and limits of growth in the financial sector and highlights the key areas for shaping growth in today's competitive environment.

With 14.6 million customers and around 22,000 employees, Postbank AG is one of the largest retail banks in Germany. The main business areas are retail banking, corporate banking and transaction banking. Postbank has enjoyed uninterrupted growth for years. Since 2000, Postbank has gained almost five million net new customers in Germany, half of them through the acquisition of BHW. Postbank is striving to become the number one in Germany as a financial partner for all private customers and as a service partner for companies. It continuously increased its pre-tax profit to 719 million euros in 2005.

Wulf von Schimmelmann has been Chairman of the Management Board of Postbank AG since February 1, 1999. The now 59-year-old economist began his professional career in 1982 as a management consultant at McKinsey & Company, Inc. in Zurich, Cleveland, Kuwait and Düsseldorf. He subsequently held board and management positions at Landesgirokasse Stuttgart, DG Bank, DHF Bank and REGIUS GmbH & Co. KG.
