biography

Prof. Dr. Rainer Kolisch (*1963) is Professor of Operations Management at the TUM School of Management. His research focuses on the analysis and optimization of service processes using quantitative models.

After studying industrial engineering at the TU Darmstadt, he completed his doctorate at the University of Kiel in 1994 on process planning with scarce resources and habilitated in 1999 on production planning in contract manufacturing. He was a professor at TU Darmstadt and TU Dresden before moving to the Technical University of Munich (TUM) in 2002.

Kolisch has received several awards, including the Best Teaching Award from the TUM School of Management and the Excellence in Reviewing Award from the European Journal of Operational Research. His research on project planning and resource management is internationally recognized.
