The success of Linde AG, an international technology group with leading market positions in the Gas and Engineering, Material Handling and Refrigeration business segments, is based to a large extent on innovative technologies and products. 41,383 employees made a decisive contribution to sales of EUR 9.421 bn and a net profit of EUR 274 m in 2004.

Wolfgang Reitzle moved from BMW AG, where he was most recently responsible for research and development as a member of the Executive Board, to the Executive Board of Linde AG after a period (1999 - 2002) with responsibility for Premier Automotive Group London, Jaguar Cars Ltd. and Volvo Cars at Ford Motor Company in Michigan (USA). He has been Chairman of the Executive Board of Linde AG, Wiesbaden, since January 2002 and a member of the Supervisory Board of Allianz Lebensversicherungs-AG (Stuttgart) since 2002.

As he has been a lecturer at the Technical University of Munich for many semesters since 1985, he was appointed honorary professor of business administration with a focus on corporate management by the Faculty of Economics at the Technical University of Munich in May 2005.
