Prof. Dr. Clemens Börsig, former Chairman of the Supervisory Board and former member of the Management Board of Deutsche Bank AGwas a participant in the panel discussion on the topic of "What are innovations and excellence worth to customers?".
Dr. Clemens Börsig was Chairman of the Supervisory Board of Deutsche Bank AG from May 2006 to May 2012. He joined Deutsche Bank in 1999 as Chief Representative and Chief Financial Officer. In 2001, he became a member of the Group Management Board and one year later also took on the role of Chief Risk Officer. Before joining Deutsche Bank, Dr. Börsig worked for RWE AG in Essen for three years as a member of the Executive Board and Chief Financial Officer. Prior to that, he worked for twelve years at Robert Bosch GmbH in Stuttgart, initially as Head of the Central Business Administration Division and from 1990 as a member of the Board of Management. From 1977 to 1985, Dr. Börsig worked for the Mannesmann Group in Düsseldorf, initially in corporate planning at the Group's headquarters and from 1983 as Chief Financial and Administrative Officer at Mannesmann-Tally.
Dr. Börsig is currently a member of the Supervisory Boards of Bayer AG, Daimler AG and Linde AG as well as the Board of Directors of Emerson Electric Company. He is also a trustee of the International Financial Reporting Standards Foundation (IFRSF). As part of his commitment to research, education and training, Dr. Börsig is Chairman of the Supervisory Board of the European School of Management and Technology (esmt). Dr. Börsig's cultural activities include chairing the board of the Kulturkreis der deutschen Wirtschaft im Bundesverband der Deutschen Industrie e.V. (BDI), membership of the board of directors of the New York Philharmonic, chairing the board of trustees of the Kulturstiftung des Festspielhauses Baden-Baden and membership of the board of trustees of the Gesellschaft der Freunde von Bayreuth e.V. (Society of Friends of Bayreuth).
