Prof. Dr. Claus Hipp

In his lecture, Professor Dr. Klaus Hipp will address the topic of "Ethics in business life".

Professor Claus Hipp was born in Munich in 1938. Alongside his studies, he was entrusted with the management of the family farm in 1960, which is still run today. After completing his doctorate in law, he joined his father's company, which manufactures infant formula, in 1963. HiPP has been producing infant formula for over a hundred years and now employs over 1000 people. HiPP sources its ingredients from around 6000 organic farmers. The company's philosophy is to manufacture top-quality products in harmony with nature. He has been a personally liable partner of the HiPP companies since 1968. Claus Hipp is Vice President of the Association of German Chambers of Industry and Commerce (DIHK) and Professor at the State Academy of Art in Tbilisi, Georgia.

For over five decades, HiPP has stood for a conscious and sensitive approach to the issues of nature, people and the economy. Claus Hipp has always personally vouched for the quality of the company's products.

In recent years, there have been increasing discussions about the general decline in values in society. In the global economy in particular, there is increasing talk about the effects of short-term capital orientation, a lack of responsibility towards employees and society and non-existent ethics and moral values.

The company, which consciously follows a Christian tradition, took this development as an opportunity to introduce an internal ethics management system in 1999 in order to actively counter this widespread view.
