Prof. Dr. Christoph Kaserer

Prof. Kaserer (*1963) conducts research in the field of corporate finance, capital markets and financial intermediation. His work has a strong empirical orientation and focuses on the usability of capital market information in investment decisions and in the asset management process. He is also heavily involved in regulatory issues. He has been a member of the Group of Economic Advisors of the European Securities and Markets Authority (ESMA) since 2016.

After studying economics at the University of Vienna (1988), he obtained his doctorate (1992) and habilitation (1998) at the University of Würzburg. In 1999, he accepted a professorship in financial management and accounting at the University of Fribourg. From 2005 to 2010, he was Dean of the Department of Economics at TUM.
