Michael E. Heidemann, Chairman of the Management Board of Zeppelin Baumaschinen GmbH in Garching near Munichspoke about the importance of solution-oriented services from German companies in his presentation "Competitive advantage: service excellence".
Zeppelin GmbH is a globally active company and consists of two divisions: Trade and Industry. The trade division comprises sales, service and rental of construction machinery and diesel engines. The industrial division comprises customized systems for bulk materials. In 2009, the Group generated a turnover of 1.8 billion euros with 6,200 employees.
Mr. Michael E. Heidemann was born in Selm in 1958, completed an apprenticeship as an industrial clerk in the CEAG Group and then worked as a clerk in the sales department of the CEAG Group. After working for several years at Tecklenborg GmbH & Co. KG, he moved to Zeppelin-Metallwerke GmbH in 1992. After several managerial positions, he became Managing Director for Service, Sales and Personnel at Zeppelin Baumaschinen GmbH in 1999. In 2000, he took over the service and sales divisions of Zeppelin GmbH as Managing Director of the commercial division and was subsequently Labor Director of Zeppelin Baumaschinen GmbH. Mr. Heidemann has been Chairman of the Management Board of Zeppelin Baumaschinen GmbH since 2008 and Deputy Chairman of the Management Board of Zeppelin GmbH since 2010.
In his contribution to the 18th Munich Management Colloquium, Michael E. Heidemann will discuss how a targeted combination of products and services can create added value for the customer and thus sustainably increase the competitiveness of German companies in the context of global industrialization.
