Mr. Martin Jetter, Chairman of the Management Board of IBM Deutschland GmbH explains in his presentation "Making the world work better - global integration and innovation" the great importance of involving the company's employees in an innovation-driven industry.

IBM is one of the world's leading companies for hardware, software and services in the IT sector, as well as one of the largest consulting companies. With annual earnings of USD 98.8 billion, IBM is the world's second largest software manufacturer in terms of turnover. The history of IBM in Germany begins with the founding of DEHOMAG (Deutsche Hollerith-Maschinen Gesellschaft mbH) in Berlin in 1910. IBM currently employs around 22,000 people in Germany. The current headquarters of IBM Deutschland GmbH are located in Stuttgart-Vaihingen.

Martin Jetter has been Chairman of the Management Board of IBM Deutschland GmbH since November 2006. He was previously head of the Global Business Services consulting division in North-East Europe. After joining IBM in 1986, Jetter held various positions in the company. Among other things, he was responsible for the global business with the customer Siemens and was an assistant to IBM Chairman and CEO Louis V. Gerstner, Jr.

In his presentation, Mr. Jetter will illustrate the potential that can be tapped by integrating employees against the backdrop of global corporate activities. His diverse activities at IBM and his international experience make for an interesting presentation at the Munich Management Colloquium.
