Experienced R&D manager with a deep technological background in lighting technology (mechanics, physics, optics, electrical engineering). Career entry in design, later project manager of large standard and customized projects, head of research and product development. 3 years as Head of Strategic Marketing complemented the marketing and sales perspective, as well as the proactive design of the product portfolio. Then returned to research and development; member of the management board since 1999. Experience in restructuring and site closures as well as in M&A (merger & acquisition) with several due diligence participations and post-merger integration projects. Extensive experience in projects with the support of management consultants (BCG, McKinsey, Roland Berger, Strategy&, KPMG and PWC) Member of the Board of Directors or Supervisory Board of several lighting technology institutions (DIAL German Institute for Applied Lighting Technology, Lighting Europe Association of the European Lighting Industry). Member of the Supervisory Board of Tridonic (subsidiary of Zumtobel Group AG) and Zumtobel Lighting US. Experienced and active in the management of intellectual property and lengthy contract negotiations. Detailed knowledge of the Asian LED supplier structure (Japan, Korea) as well as extensive experience with Asian culture (purchasing and contract negotiations). Over the years, various lecturing and teaching activities at domestic and foreign universities, technical colleges and other educational institutions. 3 years responsible for group strategy and major strategy and transformation projects in the Zumtobel Group.
