Mr. Josef Lutz, Chairman of the Management Board of BAYWA AG in Munich, spoke in his presentation "Management performance in a crisis - recognizing opportunities, avoiding risks" about the possibilities of ensuring sustainable and long-term corporate development through successful crisis management.

BAYWA AG, founded in 1923 and headquartered in Munich, is an internationally active wholesale and retail group with 3,000 sales locations in 11 European countries. The company's divisions range from agricultural inputs, agricultural technology, building materials, energy and lubricants to food production. BAYWA AG is one of the leading suppliers in Germany and Austria in the three main business segments of agriculture, construction and energy. In the agricultural sector, the BAYWA Group is one of the largest full-range suppliers in Europe and sells its product range worldwide. In 2008, Group sales increased by more than 21 percent to EUR 8.79 billion compared to the previous year, with an EBIT result of EUR 162 million.

Klaus Josef Lutz studied law at the Ludwig Maximilian University in Munich. He began his professional career as a lawyer, but soon moved into leading positions in commercial enterprises. Among other things, Lutz was Chairman of the Board and co-founder of DITEC Informationstechnologie AG, Managing Director of Burda Druck GmbH and Chairman of the Board of i-center Beteiligungen AG. Most recently, Lutz was Managing Director of Süddeutscher Verlag GmbH. His managerial qualities have earned him a reputation that extends far beyond the publishing industry. Since July 2008, Lutz has been Chairman of the Board of Management of BayWa AG. He is thus responsible for the further development of one of Europe's leading trading and services groups in the Agriculture, Building Materials and Energy divisions.
