Jürgen Gallmann

Microsoft is the world's leading manufacturer of PC software. As the company sees innovation as its core mission, it invests heavily in research and development for a wide range of products and services in the IT sector. Microsoft has also been active in Germany for more than 20 years.

After studying economics, Mr. Jürgen Gallmann worked in software development. In leading positions, he was responsible for software areas in the German and European business of various companies. Jürgen Gallmann has headed Microsoft's fourth-largest foreign subsidiary since November 2002 and initiated the organizational realignment and industry focus of Microsoft in Germany. Under his leadership, research initiatives and Microsoft's social commitment in Germany have been strengthened. In addition to his professional activities, Jürgen Gallmann is also active in numerous associations and initiatives, e.g. as a member of the executive committee of BITKOM, deputy chairman of the D21 initiative and member of the board of the Münchner Kreis.

In his presentation, Mr. Gallmann will show ways in which innovations in information and communication technology (ICT) can act as a growth driver and thus create jobs in Germany. His diverse activities and many years of international experience make him an interesting speaker at the Munich Management Colloquium.
