Jürg Oleas, Chairman of the Executive Board of GEA Group AG, spoke at the 17th Munich Management Colloquium on the topic of "Portfolio Management in Industrial Companies".

GEA Group Aktiengesellschaft is one of the largest solution providers for the production of food and energy with consolidated sales of over EUR 5.2 billion in 2008. The internationally active technology group employs more than 20,000 people and focuses on process technology and components for demanding production processes in various end markets. Around 70 percent of Group sales are generated from the long-term growing food and energy industries. The GEA Group is one of the market and technology leaders in 90 percent of its business areas.

On November 1, 2004, Jürg Oleas was appointed Chairman of the Executive Board of GEA Group Aktiengesellschaft, a position he has held since joining the Group in May 2001. During this time, he was responsible for the Chemicals division of the Executive Board, including Dynamit Nobel AG. Before joining the GEA Group, he worked for ABB and the Alstom Group for almost 20 years, where he held several management positions. Swiss national Jürg Oleas was born in Quito, Ecuador, in December 1957. In 1981, he graduated from the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology in Zurich with a Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering.

In his contribution to the 17th Munich Management Colloquium, Mr. Oleas will report on the challenges of portfolio management in industrial companies and elaborate on approaches that can be used to successfully manage complex corporate structures even in times of crisis.
