Judith Gerlach is Bavaria's digital minister. She has headed the Bavarian State Ministry for Digital Affairs since it was founded in November 2018 and is the first female digital minister in Germany to oversee the expansion of digital services for citizens and businesses. The minister also represents the state towards the federal government, for example in the IT Planning Council. Under her leadership, the Bavarian Ministry of Digital Affairs has invested more than 70 million euros in the digitalization of the administration. Gerlach stands for a technology-open, value-oriented digital policy that protects the interests of citizens. At 36, she is the youngest member of the cabinet and represents the interests of the younger generation. In 2021, she was included in the "Top 40 under 40" by Germany's leading business newspaper Capital.
