- Ingrid Hengster has been CEO of Barclays Germany and Global Chairman of Investment Banking since January 2022
- As CEO, she heads the Investment Banking, Corporate Banking and Global Markets divisions of Barclays in Germany. She is also responsible for representing Barclays to high priority clients, regulators, governments and the public
- As Global Chairman Investment Banking, Ms. Hengster helps to develop Barclays' client relationships at CEO and Board level and to open up global business opportunities in the capital markets for European clients
- She has more than 30 years of experience in investment banking
- Ingrid Hengster began her career in 1984 at Österreichische Kontrollbank and subsequently held several senior positions in investment banking at Commerzbank, UBS DE, Credit Suisse, ABN AMRO and RBS
- Before joining Barclays, Ms. Hengster was a member of the Management Board of KfW Bankengruppe from 2014
- During this time, she played a key role in building up the venture capital business and managed the entire funding business in Germany, including responsibility for the Covid aid programs during the Corona pandemic
- Her other interests and passions include education, especially the financial education of young people, as well as start-up promotion, classical music and international relations
