Ilka Horstmeier

Mrs. Ilka Horstmeier is a member of the Board of Management of BMW AG, responsible for Human Resources and Social Affairs and Labor Director. With a degree in business administration, she joined the BMW Group in 1995 as a trainee and personnel officer. Shortly afterwards, she moved to Production, where she held various management positions before taking over as Head of Production and Planning for Engines and E-Drives in 2013. In 2018, she moved to Dingolfing to manage the BMW Group plant there and has been Head of Human Resources since November 2019.

The ambivalence of operational excellence and sustainability has accompanied Horstmeier since the beginning of her career, as have numerous transformation projects. As a "person who likes people", she enjoys being responsible for over 120,000 employees and their working environment. She actively shapes the transformation and stands for social responsibility out of the deep conviction that "employees are the guarantor of the BMW Group's success".
