Georg Fahrenschon is Bavarian Minister of State for Finance in the Cabinet by Minister President Horst Seehofer. Georg Fahrenschon was born in Munich in 1968. After studying economics, he worked as a project and organizational consultant in the business world. Mr. Fahrenschon joined the Junge Union (JU) in 1985 and the CSU in 1987. He has been a member of the board of the CSU district association of Upper Bavaria since 1997 and was its treasurer from 2003 to 2009. Georg Fahrenschon has been Deputy District Chairman of the CSU Upper Bavaria since 2009. From 2002 to 2007, Mr. Fahrenschon was a member of the German Bundestag. On October 16, 2007, Georg Fahrenschon became State Secretary in the Bavarian State Ministry of Finance. Following the formation of the new cabinet in Bavaria, he was appointed Bavarian Minister of Finance by Prime Minister Horst Seehofer on October 30, 2008.

Mr. Fahrenschon also holds numerous other offices as part of his social commitment. Among other things, he is a member of the Central Committee of German Catholics (ZdK), a member of the General Council of the Catholic Academy in Bavaria, a member of the Sudeten German Landsmannschaft, a founding member of the association and member of the board of trustees of the air rescue station "Christoph 1" e.V. and a member of the board of trustees of the ifo Institute for Economic Research e.V.
