Florian Karl Bauer

Mr. Florian Karl Bauer, Member of the Board of BAUER AG, spoke on the topic "Digitalization and networking at BAUER and with BAUER special civil engineering equipment".

BAUER Maschinen GmbH is the world market leader for specialist foundation engineering equipment. In addition to rotary drilling rigs for the production of piles up to 120m deep, the product range includes cable excavators, piling rigs, milling systems, well and small drilling rigs as well as equipment for maritime use up to depths of 4,000m and deep drilling rigs for oil, gas and geothermal energy. With almost 3,000 employees, around 50 subsidiaries and 15 production sites around the world, the company has a consolidated output of around 700 million euros. BAUER Maschinen GmbH is part of the BAUER Group, which also includes BAUER Spezialtiefbau GmbH and BAUER Resources GmbH. Whether in process or machine technology, Bauer has played a key role in shaping specialist foundation engineering since the middle of the 20th century. For example, Bauer produced the foundation piles for the 828m high Burj Khalifa in Dubai and the Kingdom Tower in Jeddah - the world's tallest building in the future - is also being built on Bauer piles.

Mr. Florian Karl Bauer represents the owner family on the Management Board of the Group's holding company, BAUER AG. As one of four members of the Management Board, he is responsible for digitalization, development coordination, training and corporate culture and is also a member of the Management Board of BAUER Spezialtiefbau GmbH, which together with its subsidiaries is responsible for almost half of BAUER's corporate turnover. During his studies in civil engineering at Munich University of Applied Sciences, he already gained experience abroad in Australia. After graduating, he initially worked for a construction company in the USA before joining BAUER Spezialtiefbau GmbH as a project engineer in 2011. From 2012 to 2014, Florian Bauer was responsible for several major construction projects as site manager in Malaysia, branch manager in Singapore and then as project manager in Germany. In 2015, he became a member of the Management Board of BAUER Spezialtiefbau GmbH and is responsible for the Technology division as well as the areas of "Digital Construction", innovation and research and development. In 2018, Florian Bauer was appointed to the Management Board of BAUER Aktiengesellschaft.
