Eckhard Südmersen

arvato is a division of Bertelsmann and is one of the largest international media and communications service providers. The company employs more than 60,000 people worldwide in over 270 subsidiaries. In 2007, arvato AG generated revenues of just under â'¬5 billion. The arvato divisions are arvato services, arvato print, arvato digital services and arvato systems. The services portfolio includes marketing & data services (customer loyalty programs), customer services, financial services, supply chain management, government services, replication of storage media, IT services and print production.

Eckhard Südmersen was born in Bad Oeynhausen in 1958, studied economics at the University of Paderborn and graduated with a degree in business administration in 1984. He began his professional career at Arthur Andersen Consulting, moving to Möller Werke in Bielefeld in 1986. This was followed by various positions within the Bertelsmann Group from 1991. In 2002, he moved to the Executive Board of Kaufland Stiftung & Co. KG. In 2007, he joined the Executive Board of arvato AG. Eckhard Südmersen is responsible for arvato services CEE.
