Dr. Wolfram Seidemann, Chairman of the Management Board of Papierfabrik Louisenthal GmbHspoke on the subject of "Value engineering as the basis for business success".

Louisenthala subsidiary of the technology group Giesecke & Devrient, is an internationally recognized manufacturer of banknote and security paper as well as security elements. Since its foundation in 1964, the company, located south of Munich, has grown steadily. Today, Louisenthal employs a total of 850 people, 280 of whom work at a further site in Königstein near Dresden (Saxony). In addition to banknote paper, Louisenthal's product range includes numerous other applications, such as security paper for passports and ID documents as well as cheques, shares, tax stamps and vouchers. Louisenthal also develops and produces security elements of the highest technical quality, which are integrated into paper production as visible and hidden features. In the field of plant engineering, Louisenthal also designs and builds turnkey production plants worldwide for the high-tech manufacture of banknote and security paper and other products.

Dr. Wolfram Seidemann has been Chairman of the Management Board of Papierfabrik Louisenthal and Head of Giesecke & Devrient's Paper Division since January 2012. Prior to this, he was responsible for Sales & Marketing of Giesecke & Devrient's "Banknote Processing systems and solutions" business unit for eight years. Before entering the banknote business, Dr. Seidemann held numerous positions in the smart card industry, including Managing Director of JV GD TECO Taiwan Co Ltd in Taipei and Giesecke & Devrient Asia Pte Ltd in Singapore, with responsibility for the Southeast Asian smart card market. Before joining G&D, Dr. Seidemann worked for a management consultancy where he managed projects in the areas of logistics, R&D, innovation management, organizational development and strategy. Dr. Seidemann was born in 1967 and studied electrical engineering and business administration. He also holds a doctorate in innovation management from the Technical University of Munich.
