Dr. Thorsten Grenz, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Veolia Umweltservice GmbHspoke in his presentation "Entrepreneurial action in the waste management industry" about methods and organizational design options for implementing an entrepreneurial organization at the various hierarchical levels of a waste management company.

Dr. Grenz can look back on extensive experience in management positions at multinational companies. After working as a Senior Project Leader at McKinsey in Frankfurt, Paris and Vienna and as Head of Corporate Controlling and Managing Director Finance at Hapag-Lloyd in Hamburg, Dr. Grenz, who holds a doctorate in business administration, demonstrated his management skills as CEO of Mobilcom. Most recently, Dr. Grenz was a partner at 3i Deutschland Gesellschaft für Industriebeteiligungen in Frankfurt am Main. A keen sailor and long-distance runner, Dr. Grenz is married and has a daughter.

In his contribution to the 16th Munich Management Colloquium "Entrepreneurial Action in the Waste Management Industry", Dr. Grenz will explain which key factors influence entrepreneurial action in the waste management industry. In particular, the demands placed on logistics and its employees will be discussed. Key design parameters are the organizational structure of the logistics architecture and the issue of delegating responsibility along the waste disposal chain. In this context, Dr. Grenz discusses the success factors of Veolia Umweltservice GmbH. He also explains how regulatory requirements influence the waste disposal business of the company in particular and the entire industry in general.
