Dr. Ralf-Uwe Bauer, CEO of smartfiber AG in Rudolstadtspoke in his presentation "Global industrialization - how can Germany remain competitive? The answer is: through innovation" about the challenges and opportunities of globalization for innovative companies.

Dr. Ralf-Uwe Bauer is the CEO of smartfiber AG in Rudolstadt. Founded in 2005 as a spin-off from the Thuringian Institute for Textile and Plastics Research (TITK), the company develops, produces and sells functional fibers with various functionalities and for different areas of application. In 2010, the company received the German Innovation Award in the "Start-up Company" category for its achievements.

Ralf-Uwe Bauer, who holds a doctorate in engineering, initiated the founding of smartfiber AG together with entrepreneur Michael Kohne in 2005 and has been responsible for research and development as the company's CEO ever since.

Dr. Ralf-Uwe Bauer studied at the Köthen University of Engineering before obtaining his doctorate in 1985. This was followed by various positions in the textile industry, including Head of the Viscose Fiber Production Division at Thüringische Faser AG, Managing Director of Schwarza Faser GmbH, Managing Director of the Thuringian Institute for Textile and Plastics Research and Managing Director of Ostthüringische Materialprüf-Gesellschaft für Textil und Kunststoffe mbH. In 2009, Dr. Ralf-Uwe Bauer was the initiator of the foundation of Rubitherm Compound GmbH, a company for the production of energy storage materials.

In his contribution to the 18th Munich Management Colloquium, Dr. Ralf-Uwe Bauer will discuss how innovative companies can benefit sustainably and in the long term in global growth markets. He will present concepts and experiences on the strategies he would like to use to position his companies competitively in the future.
