Dr. Kurt W. Bock joined BASF AG in 1985 after studying business administration and obtaining his doctorate in economics. After many years of management and executive activities on the staff of the Chief Financial Officer and in the Technology, Planning and Controlling Division for Engineering Plastics, he moved to Robert Bosch GmbH in 1991 as Head of Finance. In 1996, he became Managing Director of Robert Bosch Ltda. in Campinas, Brazil. In 1998, he returned to BASF AG as Chief Financial Officer of BASF Corporation in Mount Olive, USA. In 2000, he was appointed Head of Logistics and Information Technology at BASF AG. Since January 2003, Dr. Kurt W. Bock has been a member of the Board of Executive Directors of BASF AG, where he is responsible for Finance, Global Procurement & Logistics, Information Services, Corporate Auditing and the South America region.

In addition to his function as Chief Financial Officer of BASF AG, Dr. Kurt W. Bock holds supervisory board mandates at BASFIN Corporation in the USA, Wintershall AG in Kassel and Basell N. V. in the Netherlands.
