Dr.-Ing. Jürgen Großmann, Chairman of the Executive Board of RWE AG in Essenspoke in his presentation "The energy of the future needs innovation, courage and entrepreneurial spirit" about ways and strategies to strengthen innovation in the energy sector.
Jürgen Großmann has been Chairman of the Executive Board of RWE AG since October 2007. RWE AG is one of the five largest utility companies in Europe. Its activities include the generation, transportation, trading and sales of electricity and gas. The focus of its business activities is on the European region. RWE is the largest electricity producer in Germany and No. 2 in the UK. The aim is to continuously expand its position in Central and South Eastern Europe.
Mr. Großmann initially studied ferrous metallurgy in Clausthal and economics in Göttingen, accompanied by numerous internships abroad, before obtaining his doctorate in engineering from the Technical University of Berlin. This was followed by positions as assistant to the management board, managing director and holding board member within Klöckner-Werke AG. Before taking over as CEO of RWE AG, Mr. Großmann was Managing Director and shareholder of Georgsmarienhütte GmbH and Holding GmbH.
In his contribution to the 16th Munich Management Colloquium, Dr.-Ing. Jürgen Großmann will discuss how German companies can achieve the necessary innovations for sustainable growth in the energy sector through the courage to innovate. He will present some of the concepts and experiences that RWE uses to achieve and promote innovation and entrepreneurship in its own company.
