biography
Dr.-Ing. Hans-Toni Junius, Managing Partner and Chairman of the Management Board of C.D. Wälzholz KG, Hagen spoke on the subject "Innovative strength, dynamism & balance - 185 years of success with steel".
Founded in 1829, the family-owned company is active in steel processing and has a global presence with subsidiaries and agencies. In the last financial year, 1,900 employees generated a turnover of around 800 million euros. The company produces over 600,000 tons of steel per year at nine production sites in Europe, North and South America and Asia. Caspar Diederich Wälzholz laid the foundation stone for today's group of companies when he bought a coarse wire coil in the Nahmertal valley in 1829. Just 35 years later, CDW was one of the leading companies in the cold rolling industry at the time. Today, flexible materials such as high-strength spring steels for safety belt systems and electrical steel for hybrid drives and energy generation systems characterize the orientation of the materials and development spectrum.
