Dr.-Ing. Gunnar Güthenke

Dr.-Ing. Gunnar Güthenke has been Head of Purchasing and Supplier Quality, Mercedes-Benz Cars, since July 2019. In this role, he is responsible for purchasing production materials and the quality of purchased parts from Mercedes-Benz Cars and Vans suppliers worldwide.

Prior to this, he had been head of the off-road vehicle product division since 2014 and was Managing Director of Mercedes-Benz G GmbH in Graz. From 2011 to 2014, he was responsible for the management function in the After Sales division of Mercedes-Benz Trucks. Before taking over as Head of Purchasing Trucks Europe in 2006, Gunnar Güthenke held various management positions in purchasing and was responsible for various commodities for trucks and vans.

Gunnar Güthenke was born in 1972 and studied mechanical engineering (Dipl.-Ing.) and business administration (Dipl.-Kaufmann) at RWTH Aachen University. After completing his doctorate at the Fraunhofer Institute, Gunnar Güthenke began his professional career at the then DaimlerChrysler AG in 2001 in the Truck Powertrain division.
