Dr.-Ing. E. h. Heinz Dürr

Dr.-Ing. E.h. Heinz Dürr, Chairman of the Supervisory Board of Dürr AGtook part in the panel discussion on "What are innovations and excellence worth to the customer?".

The Dürr AG is a mechanical and plant engineering company that occupies leading positions on the global market in its fields of activity. The Dürr Group operates in the market with four segments: Paint and Assembly Systems offers production and painting technology, primarily for car bodies. Machines and systems from the second segment, Measuring and Process Systems, are used in engine and transmission construction and in final vehicle assembly. In the Application Technology segment, Dürr offers painting robots and high-rotation atomizers. In 2011, the newly established Clean Technology Systems segment was added, in which the Group focuses on environmental technology and energy efficiency. A good 80% of sales are generated in business with the automotive industry. Dürr also supplies the aircraft industry, mechanical engineering, the electrical industry, the energy sector and the chemical and pharmaceutical industries with innovative production and environmental technology. Dürr has over 50 locations in 23 countries worldwide.

Dr.-Ing. E.h. Heinz Dürr has been Chairman of the Supervisory Board of Dürr AG since 1990. Dr. Dürr began his professional career with practical training as a steel construction fitter, followed by studies at the Technical University of Stuttgart. He holds an honorary doctorate from the Rheinisch-Westfälische Technische Hochschule (RWTH), Aachen. In the past, he has held board positions at AEG, Daimler Benz AG and Deutsche Bahn AG. From 1999 to 2003, he was Commissioner of the Carl Zeiss Foundation.
