Dr.-Ing. Dr.-Ing. E.h. Norbert Reithofer

Dr.-Ing. Dr.-Ing. E.h. Norbert Reithofer, has been Chairman of the Supervisory Board of BMW AG since mid-2015. He joined BMW AG in 1987 after completing his doctorate at the Technical University. His career has been characterized by various management positions within the BMW Group until he became a permanent member of the Board of Management in 2000 and held the position of Chairman of the Board of Management from 2006 until 2015. Mr. Reithofer studied mechanical engineering at the Munich University of Applied Sciences as well as production engineering and management science at the Technical University of Munich and completed his scientific career with a doctorate.

For more than 100 years now, BMW AG has been the only manufacturer of cars and motorcycles in the world to focus exclusively on the premium segment with all its brands. The Munich-based company with a workforce of around 124,700 employees at 31 locations worldwide has a track record of 2.4 million cars and 145,000 motorcycles with a total turnover of 94.1 billion euros.
