The Corporate Board of Management is responsible for the strategic orientation of the Voith Group and manages the company.
Dr. Lienhard holds a doctorate in chemistry and began his career in 1981 at Lurgi GmbH, where he worked for several years in Scotland and the USA. In 1989, Dr. Lienhard moved to ABB in Mannheim. There he was initially responsible for the steam turbine business. From 1994, Dr. Lienhard was a member of the Executive Board of ABB AG. Two years later, the company appointed him head of the global steam power plant division and member of the Board of Management of the power plant division of ABB Ltd. in Zurich. In 2001, Dr. Lienhard became a member of the Voith Corporate Board of Management and headed the Voith Hydro Group Division from 2002 to 2008. Since 2008, he has been Chairman of the Corporate Board of Management.
Dr. Lienhard is a member of the supervisory boards of the graphite and carbon specialist SGL Group, the Baden-Württemberg energy supplier EnBW and the precious metals and technology company Heraeus.
