biography
Dr. Elmar Degenhart, Chairman of the Executive Board of Continental AGspoke about ways and strategies to make better use of growth opportunities within a German industrial company in his presentation "Growth through sharing: combining hierarchical and network behavior to achieve better solutions faster".
Dr. Elmar Degenhart studied aerospace engineering at the University of Stuttgart. He completed his doctorate in the field of cleanroom technology at the Fraunhofer Institute for Manufacturing Engineering and Automation (IPA) in Stuttgart and was responsible for the area of hand-held and industrial robot systems. He subsequently held various management positions at ITT Automotive GmbH and Continental Teves AG & Co. oHG.
Dr. Degenhardt was Chairman of the Board of Management of the Chassis Systems Division of Robert Bosch GmbH and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Keiper Recaro Group. From 2008 to 2009, he was Chairman of the Executive Board Automotive of the Schaeffler Group and was responsible for around 60 percent of Group sales.
Dr. Degenhardt has been Chairman of the Executive Board of Continental AG since August 2009. He is also responsible for the Continental Business System, Quality and Environment and Corporate Communications.
In his contribution to the 19th Munich Management Colloquium, Dr. Elmar Degenhart will discuss how Continental AG is making better use of growth opportunities in organizations and informal networks, thereby creating advantages for its own company and its partners.
