As much management as necessary, as much entrepreneurial freedom as possible. Haniel operates successfully on the market according to this motto. The company has been owned by the Haniel family since it was founded in 1756. And since the beginning of the last century, there has been a strict separation between capital ownership on the one hand and management on the other. The company shares are held by around 500 shareholders.

Today, the Haniel Group presents itself as an international group with 53,000 employees and an annual turnover of over 24 billion euros. Haniel operates with great success in independent markets. We see this as proof that we have the right instinct for future-oriented business areas and that our managers have a high level of management expertise.

The Group comprises six decentrally organized divisions that are continuously expanding their market position. The Holding Company Franz Haniel & Cie. GmbH is responsible for strategic and financial management and determines the guidelines for Group-wide human resources management. It defines the principles according to which the Group's divisions act. Acting so successfully that they invariably occupy leading positions in their markets.
