Dr. Eberhard Veit, Chairman of the Management Board of Festo AG, Esslingenspoke on the topic of "Close partnerships ensure success - for our customers and for Festo".

Festo was founded in 1925 as a family business in the woodworking machinery sector. The business fields were consistently expanded over the decades. In the mid-1950s, Festo concentrated on the potential of pneumatics for automation technology. Since then, Festo has established itself as one of the world's leading brands for pneumatic components and systems. Festo AG now has 59 independent national companies with more than 15,500 employees and a consolidated turnover of 2.1 billion euros. Three production sites in Germany and nine global production sites, subdivided into 59 national companies with over 250 branches, are the worldwide guarantee for a stable partnership. State-of-the-art manufacturing processes developed in-house, including virtual production lines. Core competencies in factory and process automation as well as quality assurance systems form the reliable basis of the corporate strategy.

Dr. Veit studied mechanical engineering at the University of Stuttgart. He received the German Innovation Award 2000 for his dissertation in the field of household technology at the University of Munich. Dr. Veit was subsequently responsible for the development of mechatronic products at Märklin. As Head of Research and Development at Kärcher, he was instrumental in driving the success of the company's consumer line. He has been a member of the Management Board of Festo AG since 1997 and, in addition to his responsibility for product and technology management, has been Spokesman of the Management Board since 2004. Dr. Veit has been Chairman of the Management Board of Festo AG since 1 May 2008.
