Gruner + Jahr AG & Co KG is Europe's largest magazine publisher with around 285 magazines and newspapers in 21 countries. The Hamburg-based company generated sales of around 2.6 billion euros in the 2005 financial year with over 12,500 employees. In addition to magazines, its business activities also include printing plants and corporate and publishing services. Gruner + Jahr's vision is to be the global journalistic home of fascinating magazines and newspapers.
After studying business administration and obtaining his doctorate, Mr. Dr. Kundrun He began his career at Bertelsmann in 1984. This was followed by several management positions in the club and television business. Since 1997, Dr. Kundrun has been a member of the Executive Board of the international printing and publishing company Gruner + Jahr, which he has headed since November 1, 2000. Growth, innovation and quality have always accompanied Dr. Bernd Kundrun's impressive CV. He launched an unprecedented innovation offensive at Gruner + Jahr, which created the framework conditions for quality journalism. In doing so, Dr. Kundrun implemented journalistic freedom and economic independence as an essential basis for the company's success.
