Dr. Daniela Gerd tom Markotten

Daniela Gerd tom Markotten has been Board Member for Digitalization and Technology at Deutsche Bahn AG since September 2021. With a doctorate in industrial engineering, she started her career at Daimler, where she held various management positions, particularly in the field of logistics IT and digital solutions. She also held management positions at Mercedes-Benz Trucks and the mobility service provider Moovel.

At Deutsche Bahn, she is driving the digital transformation process, including the use of AI to improve the punctuality of trains and the implementation of cutting-edge technologies such as 3D printing to optimize maintenance processes. Dr. Gerd tom Markotten is committed to using innovative technologies to make the mobility sector more efficient and sustainable. In September 2023, her term of office on the Deutsche Bahn Executive Board was extended by a further five years.
