Mrs. Claudia Nemat was a member of the Board of Management of Deutsche Telekom AG until September 2025, CEO of the European business until 2017, and in subsequent years Board Member for Technology and Innovation. This includes telecommunications networks, digital transformation and AI, product innovations and cyber security.
Before joining Deutsche Telekom, Claudia Nemat worked for more than 17 years at the management consultancy McKinsey&Company. As a Senior Partner, she led the global technology sector and took on a number of interim management/CEO roles with global IT clients.
Her areas of expertise include business technology transformation and large-scale cultural change, artificial intelligence and technology leadership, product innovation, crisis management and geostrategy as well as critical infrastructures. Claudia Nemat has worked in various European countries and in the USA. She was a member of the Supervisory Board and the Audit Committee of Lanxess for several years and a member of the Board of Directors of Airbus and the Supervisory Board of Airbus Defense from 2016 to 2025. Since April 2025, she has been a member of the Board of Directors and the Finance, Audit and Compliance Committees of ABB.
Claudia Nemat studied physics at the University of Cologne, where she taught at the Institute of Mathematics and Theoretical Physics. She has been a member of the University Council of the University of Cologne since 2014. In 2021, she was awarded the Heinrich Hertz Visiting Professorship of the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT).
