Bernhard Mattes

In the automotive industry, the name Ford stands for mobility, innovation and trend-setting design. The company employs around 38,000 people from 57 nations. The product range from small cars to commercial vehicles and off-road vehicles offers a wide selection of new vehicles to those interested in automobiles. New developments at regular intervals are a basic prerequisite for the company's continued growth. The decreasing product adhesion cycles in particular pose a challenge for creative minds. This is why Ford's developers are concentrating primarily on innovation. In his presentation, Mr. Mattes will explain in detail how these innovations lead to growth and thus to more jobs.

Mr. Mattes joined BMW AG in 1982 after graduating from the University of Hohenheim with a degree in economics. Bernhard Mattes gained experience in automotive management in business consulting for dealers, as head of various sales regions, as head of branch sales and as project manager for international dealer development strategy, support organization and business plan. Most recently, Mr. Mattes was responsible for the Germany region as Head of Sales Trade Organization. Mr. Mattes is Chairman of the Management Board of Ford-Werke GmbH. At the same time, he continues to be responsible for Marketing and Sales. Mr. Mattes has been working for Ford in this Management Board function and as Deputy Chairman of the Management Board since July 2, 1999.
