Andreas König

Andreas König began building up the company's structures in Central Europe in September 1996 as Country Sales Manager at Network Appliance in Munich - at a time when the market for storage solutions was still completely open and nobody was talking about appliances. By December 1997, he was already managing Network Appliance Central Europe as Regional Manager, and from November 1998 as Director Central Europe. In October 2003, he was appointed Vice President EMEA Central Area at Network Appliance. With the promotion of Andreas König to Vice President Sales EMEA in August 2004, König's area of responsibility was extended from Central and Eastern Europe to the EMEA sales region, which includes Europe, the Middle East and Africa. Andreas König is now responsible for all sales activities of the storage manufacturer in this region.

As his first and only employee, he has built up the rapidly growing company in Central Europe to a current headcount of over 100. This also includes the successful structuring of the head office for the Central European sales region in Grasbrunn near Munich and the establishment of offices in Düsseldorf, Mörfelden, Hamburg, Stuttgart, Nuremberg, Walldorf, Vienna and Zurich. Today, Network Appliance Central Europe is a clearly structured organization with the functional areas of sales, marketing, technical support, finance and human resources.

Born in Austria, he began his professional career in 1988 as a technical consultant at MacNeal-Schwendler in Munich after studying mechanical engineering at ETH Zurich. After two years, he moved to Silicon Graphics, where he built up sales in Austria, among other things. As Head of Indirect Sales for Germany, he was also responsible for partner marketing.

Andreas König lives with his family near Munich.
