In his presentation "Increasing value through concentration and technology transfer", Alexander von Witzleben spoke about innovative approaches to designing an efficient value creation strategy.

 

The Jenoptik technology group specializes in photonic technologies and masters the photonic chain - from generating light (lasers) to shaping (optics) and detecting light (sensors). Mechatronics technologies, the combination of mechanics and electronics, round off the profile.

Jenoptik develops, manufactures and sells photonic and mechatronic components, modules and system solutions through to complete systems and makes light usable as a tool. In addition to materials processing, medical technology and the market for security and defense technology, the main markets include the semiconductor industry, the aerospace industry, the market for digital image processing and for traffic safety and measurement technology.

In 2005, around 2,800 employees of the Jenoptik Group achieved sales of 410.1 million euros and an operating result of around 25 million euros in the three divisions Laser&Optics, Sensors and Mechatronics and the holding company. The technology group is headquartered in Jena, one of the most important locations for optical technologies in Europe and known worldwide for "German engineering" in the field of precision optics and precision mechanics. The Group emerged from JENOPTIK Carl Zeiss Jena GmbH in 1991. JENOPTIK AG has been listed on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange since June 1998 and is included in the TecDax.

Alexander von Witzleben has been CEO of JENOPTIK AG since June 19, 2003. He is responsible for strategic corporate planning and investments, taxes/finance/controlling, data processing, investor relations and public relations as well as corporate governance.

Alexander von Witzleben was born in Hamburg on August 19, 1963. From 1985 to 1990, he studied economics and business administration at the University of Passau. He then worked for three years at KPMG Deutsche Treuhandgesellschaft Wirtschaftsprüfungsgesellschaft in Munich. On October 1, 1993, he moved to Jenoptik and took over as Head of Corporate Finance. With effect from May 1, 1997, he was appointed a full member of the Executive Board.

Outside the Jenoptik Group, he is Chairman of the Supervisory Boards of Analytik Jena AG, DEWB AG, M+W Zander Gebäudetechnik GmbH, PVA TePla AG and Deputy Chairman of Carl Zeiss Meditec AG. He is a member of the Board of Directors of Feintool International Holding AG and a member of the Advisory Board of Kaefer Isoliertechnik GmbH & Co. KG.
